Battery breakers can be supplied with an electrolyte neutralisation station developed by Dross Engineering.

The neutralisation process uses either lime or caustic soda.

The choice of agent is linked to possible outlets for gypsum produced if the electrolyte is neutralized using lime.

When neutralizing using lime a filter press is required to recover the gypsum.

Neutralized product is reused in the wash water circuit of the breaker.
